Wishbones for Pets is an international charitable event founded by Janet Depathy of Under My Wings Pet Sitting. The program is run by professional pet sitters in their own community. Each pet sitting business who volunteers to offer the program selects the charity of their choice and hosts the program approximately six weeks prior to Thanksgiving (Oct. 15 to Nov. 30).
In 2005, Seashore Pet Sitting became a proud representative of this amazing charitable event. Working together, Susanne and Janet helped raise approximately $4,000 in goods and funds to benefit local shelters! We were overcome with gratitude that our community came together with such generosity in the spirit of giving to pets that need a forever home.
Each year our goal will be to choose an organization to be the beneficiary of the goods donated to benefit homeless pets. We will be counting on sponsors and local businesses to help us bring awareness to this nationwide challenge. Check back to this page as we get closer to October for more updates and where you'll be able to find a drop-off site in your area.
